How it all started

The old floorplan was segmented by a central bedroom that restricted the flow of light and foot traffic to the rest of the house.

Let there be light

Bringing more natural light into the space was a must. We removed excess inner walls and installed skylights in all the right places to make the house feel brighter and leaner.

A familiar silhouette

We achieved an incredibly spacious, inviting final impression without expanding the house's footprint. Key to this was a better utilization of the outdoor space, as well as a more confident mid-century aesthetic.

How it came together

The new, open floorplan is framed with long, linear uprights, showcasing the house's new colors and letting it glow in the evening with an inviting lantern-light. Without expanding its footprint, the 5-bedroom home now embodies the spacious elegance that designs from its era aspired to.
